Washington and Moscow discuss gas sales to Europe
The article reveals discussions between senior Russian and American officials, including U.S. envoy Jared Kushner, about the possibility of involving an American investor in the Nord Stream pipelines for transporting Russian gas to Germany before the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. Although the talks consider the potential resumption of gas supplies through the pipelines, legal obstacles, current sanctions from the United States and the European Union, as well as opposition from Germany and other European countries, currently hinder the reactivation of the pipelines. This initiative is part of unofficial efforts to achieve peace, focusing on the seriousness of the discussions and the prospects for agreement in the future.
