Pentagon to execute Nidal Hassan live
The U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced that the death sentence for Nidal Hassan, a former army officer and psychologist who was convicted of killing 13 people in an attack inside Fort Hood in 2009, will be broadcast live on social media and carried out by lethal injection on December 3rd. It is worth noting that the last execution carried out by the U.S. military occurred in 1961, and the sentence comes after the completion of his final appeal in 2025. The attack at Fort Hood resulted in 13 deaths and 32 injuries; Hassan had presented his defense in court and was sentenced to death, with potential legal appeals still pending.
