Sallam Discusses Timeline and Verification with Lankford
The meeting between Prime Minister Nohad Hariri and U.S. Senator Jim Langevin focused on implementing mutual commitments in Lebanon, especially in the south, with a clear timetable and a verification mechanism to ensure execution, aiming to stabilize the country and strengthen the presence of the state and security institutions. They also discussed supporting the Lebanese army to restore its authority over all Lebanese territories and to enhance its capabilities, as well as the reconstruction process for areas affected by the war. These discussions come as part of intensified efforts to put the understandings on the ground into action and to reaffirm the commitment to implementing political and economic programs to support stability in Lebanon.
