French Student Protests for Better Schools
Student protests in France have been ongoing for three weeks, involving school closures and street demonstrations, due to a shortage of teachers and poor condition of educational buildings. Despite government promises to address the issue and provide alternatives for teachers, the details have been insufficient, and the tension is considered deep between the people's demands for investment in public services and the pressures of government finances. Peaceful protests have occurred with some clashes, and the government suspended the use of sound bombs after a girl was injured in an explosion of one. They are also working on an emergency plan to improve the state of education.
