Al-Khazzen Urges President Salam for National Consensus
A statement was issued by MP Wadie Khazen, former Minister and Dean of the Maronite Council, highlighting the importance of implementing the commitments made by Prime Minister Nohad Mashnouk, especially regarding the issue of depositors' funds. He emphasized that this matter requires an urgent and transparent solution. The statement focused on the need to clearly define responsibilities and figures, and to approve financial laws and mechanisms by the government and banks. It also underscored the importance of establishing a timetable for the recovery of funds. Khazen affirmed that solutions must be a joint effort between the state and the banks, and not solely the burden of depositors, in order to restore trust and strengthen financial stability.
