Trump honors Musk with top US science award
Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX and Tesla, received the highest American scientific award from President Donald Trump during the “Golden Age of American Innovation” summit. This came after a period of disagreement between them, as Trump described Musk as a “national treasure” and “Thomas Edison of his era.” He awarded both of them, along with six other tech leaders, prestigious medals, in addition to the National Medal of Science awarded to three others. This recognition marks a reestablishment of their relationship after tensions stemming from Musk’s criticism of tax laws and previous political challenges, serving as an official acknowledgment of Musk’s significant role in American technological innovation.
