Trump signs decree after promising to Aoun
U.S. President Donald Trump received official approval to relax restrictions on flights between Lebanon and the United States. He signed a decision on September 30th that cancels previous presidential bans dating back to 1985, 1992, 1998, and 2007, based on the assessment that the restrictions are no longer necessary for the safety of the aircraft. He also announced the intention to resume direct flights between the two countries, though no specific date has been set for their resumption. This paves the way for the return of direct commercial flights between Lebanon and the United States.
