Israeli Army Continues Hezbollah Targeting
An Israeli report states that the Israeli Army has resumed assassination operations against Hezbollah leaders and members, particularly in the Lebanese Beka'a Valley, after Israel expanded its engagement rules and targeted sites inside Lebanese territory away from the southern border. Recent airstrikes included an attempt to target a car in Beka'a, which resulted in six injuries; assessments suggest it was a failed assassination attempt. These moves are seen as a security and political message from Lebanon, aiming to restrict Hezbollah's movements and put pressure on the Lebanese government. Such actions are part of Israel’s effort to redefine its engagement rules and extend its deterrence from the southern border into the depths of Lebanon, especially with Israeli elections approaching, amid fears that security operations and assassinations may be premeditated to achieve political and propaganda gains.
