Large fire at Bqayq oil facility
Satellite images on October 8th showed a large fire at the Bqayq oil processing facility in eastern Saudi Arabia, amid reports of renewed Yemeni attacks targeting sites within the kingdom. The Bqayq facility is one of the world's most important crude oil processing centers and plays a vital role in preparing Saudi oil for export, making any disruption to its operations a threat to energy supplies and global oil markets. The reports did not specify the cause of the fire, but repeated Yemeni attacks on the facility may be a likely reason. The incident could have impacted Saudi oil production, potentially affecting global markets.
