Lebanese Prisoners Call for Pardon Amid Illness
Approximately 600 prisoners in Lebanese prisons have been on a hunger strike and refusing medication for the twenty-eighth day, protesting the suspension of the general amnesty law. The number of critical health cases has risen to 72, amid worsening health conditions and increasing tensions inside the prisons. Additionally, the Rihney prison administration transferred four inmates infected with tuberculosis to the hospital, heightening concerns about the spread of the disease. Prisoners are demanding the declaration of a health emergency and the implementation of effective measures. They continue their protest, calling for the suspension of the suspension of the general amnesty law to be ended.
