US Political Ban on Lebanon Removed
The lifting of the US political ban on Lebanon enables the resumption of flights between the two countries after 41 years of suspension. This is achieved through the annulment of US presidential decrees from 1985, 1992, 1998, and 2007, aimed at boosting confidence in airport safety and security procedures. Lebanon has prepared by renewing the bilateral agreement with the United States and working with the World Bank to address security gaps, awaiting the issuance of the necessary licenses to officially operate flights—particularly from Beirut to American cities such as New York and Washington—thereby strengthening economic and security ties between the two nations.
