Prisoners Stage 29-Day Hunger Strike
The situation in Lebanese prisons remains tense, as approximately 600 inmates continue their hunger and medication strike for the 29th consecutive day, protesting the delay in implementing the general amnesty law, which prisoners have named "Hope" in anticipation of their release. The number of critical health cases has risen to 75, and the deteriorating condition of some strikers reflects an escalation in the protests. Despite some cautious optimism following positive news about the reactivation of the law, the prisoners are calling for a swift resolution, warning that further delays could threaten the lives of more inmates.
