Hisham on Army-Civilian Ties
During the second Army race in Beirut, Lieutenant General Rudolf Hkel, the military commander, emphasized the deep and longstanding relationship between the Lebanese Army and civilians. He affirmed that the army derives its strength from the people and remains permanently present near homes and on borders to confront security challenges. He explained that the army's missions include combating terrorism, establishing security, and preventing smuggling and illegal trade. He called on citizens to join and support the army and to report any suspicious activities to ensure Lebanon's safety. He also noted that the army maintains a high level of alertness to guarantee national stability and receives support from civilian and security authorities as well as from the UNIFIL community. At the end of the event, the army commander distributed prizes to the winners and congratulated everyone on their participation.
