Echo in Yemen, rise in Lebanon
The article discusses the escalation of regional tensions and their potential impact on Lebanon, especially in light of developments in the Yemen conflict, which indicate a change in the phase and an increase in threats. The United States is moving toward reducing Iranian influence by more broadly supporting military operations against the Houthis. This confrontation may include the possibility of escalation in other arenas such as Lebanon and Iraq. The article explains that the success of this approach could lead to new clashes with Hezbollah, particularly following recent Israeli operations targeting arms depots and party facilities. These developments place Lebanon under the responsibility of safeguarding its security and stability, emphasizing the need not to wait until rockets reach its territory. Continued tension threatens to transfer the war onto Lebanese soil and exacerbates the suffering of its people amid deteriorating economic and political conditions.
