The head of the Change Movement, Eli Maḥfoud, confirmed that the security of the Lebanese President, Joseph Aoun, is under threat due to risks associated with the Iranian project in Lebanon. This is especially concerning given information indicating a thwarted attempt to transfer explosives from the Bekaa Valley to the southern suburbs. Maḥfoud emphasized that the protection of the president goes beyond his individual safety to become a defense of the Lebanese sovereignty and state. He also warned of the potential for assassination attempts amid the transitional tensions the country is experiencing.
