EU to start support mission for Lebanon
The European Union foreign ministers confirmed that, with Lebanon's assistance, the EU has launched a three-year Security Support Mission to enhance the capabilities of the Lebanese Armed Forces and Internal Security Forces. The mission includes a military component that provides advice and training to strengthen border security, combat smuggling, and maritime security, as well as a civilian component that supports the management of cybercrime prevention and the professional development of internal security teams. This initiative aims to support Lebanese institutions and their sovereignty, and requires completing planning and procedures before actual operations commence.
