Lebanon Approves Restart of Zouk and Jiyé Plants
The Lebanon Electricity Board's Board of Directors has initially approved the restart of the Zouk and Jiyeh power plants, with the aim of increasing electricity production and alleviating burdens on citizens. Preparations are underway to operate the units that have demonstrated their safety and readiness, following documentation of test results by the manufacturing company (MAN). The decision comes after a technical and legal study, with an emphasis on not dismissing the responsibilities of the previous operator and preserving the rights of the institution. It also involves respecting existing judicial rulings and implementing the necessary procedures in coordination with relevant authorities to ensure safe operation.
