Explosive Smuggling Extends to Border
The article discusses the escalating smuggling of explosives across the Lebanese-Syrian borders, where more than 200 kilograms of smuggled explosives from Syria have been seized. Additionally, over 750 kilograms of TNT and C4 were confiscated in Dahr El-Baidar, indicating a broader scheme to target Lebanese stability through a smuggling network aimed at escalating hostile acts. Lebanese authorities confirmed that this surge in smuggling operations reflects the existence of an organized criminal network targeting deadly attacks and political assassinations to strengthen militias' influence. The authorities also warned against repeating past scenarios, such as the "Kahaleh truck" incident. They pledged to take strict measures to hold responsible parties accountable and pursue those issuing orders, with the goal of restoring public confidence in the state.
