US ambassador visits Syrian embassy in Lebanon
A report reveals that the acting Syrian ambassador to Lebanon, Iyad Al-Hizaz, had an unusual meeting with U.S. Ambassador Michel Issa at the Syrian embassy, marking a rare diplomatic step taken in many years. The meeting discussed the rapid regional developments and the political and security challenges facing Lebanon and Syria, amid concerns over rising illegal displacement and doubts about Damascus's intentions. Emphasis was placed on the need for broader coordination between the two countries despite their differing official positions, though there are no indications of any ready-made settlements at this time.
