UK Parliament criticizes London’s African exit
The article addresses the United Kingdom's weak presence in the Sahel region of Africa, as a parliamentary investigation committee continues to assess its level of involvement in efforts toward stability and development, amid the expanding influence of Russia and China in the area. Unpublished results indicate that London's footprint is very limited compared to its ambitions, following its withdrawal from previous investigations and in light of increasing security and humanitarian challenges caused by Wagner's growing influence and Chinese investments. Britain is concerned about the situation in the region and provides financial aid, but the lack of opposition participation and weak institutions threaten stability. The UK emphasizes the importance of political dialogue and transparency initiatives to support long-term stability.
