Calls to reinstate removed educational guides
The article concerns widespread protests against the Ministry of Education's decision to prohibit non-Lebanese educational counselors from working in the evening shifts. Over 400 counselors have been excluded after more than 12 years of service. The Educational Guidance Committee affirmed that these counselors play a vital role in supporting students psychologically, socially, and educationally—especially during difficult social circumstances—and that the exclusion decision was made without prior warning. The committee has called for the immediate resumption of evening guidance work and for the counselors to return to their schools, along with the allocation of weekly educational sessions involving the counselors who previously attended these shifts. Additionally, they emphasized parliamentary support for efforts to restore the counselors' rights and ensure the continuity of the educational role they have been fulfilling.
