The Lebanese army and security forces implemented strict security measures, especially after the seizure of a large explosives shipment belonging to Hezbollah in the areas of Zahlé. The party admitted to owning the materials and demanded the release of detainees and the recovery of the substances. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, in a phone call with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, emphasized the need to pressure Israel to cease its attacks in the south and to adhere to the framework agreement, while also ensuring that farmers are not harmed. Aoun also stressed that security agencies will follow up on all cases with resolve and will enforce laws without hesitation, amid rising tensions between Lebanese authorities and Hezbollah regarding security procedures. Hezbollah, for its part, accused government officials of acting illegally and under American influence.
