Hamas fee dispute delays Israel supplies
The entry of trucks loaded with commercial goods from Israel into the Gaza Strip has been halted due to a dispute over fees imposed by Israel on traders, which Hamas considers voluntary donations to support those in need. Israel has announced the suspension of coordination with Gaza traders in protest against fees of 10,000 shekels (approximately $3,220) per truck, in addition to demands to collect 30% of sales in cash. Hamas states that these amounts are voluntary donations from the wealthy in Gaza to support widows and orphans, justified by the cash shortages in Gaza. This measure threatens to reduce the number of trucks entering the area, worsening the food and basic goods crisis, as the majority of the population relies on aid after years of war and blockade. It is expected that the number of commercial and humanitarian trucks will significantly decrease, potentially increasing the suffering of the residents.
