US pressures intensify risking talks
As American pressures on Lebanon escalate, political sources have confirmed that the level of Washington's demands regarding a shift in the regional climate and the restriction of Hezbollah's activities has reached its peak. The emphasis is on reminding Lebanon of the need to address the issue of cross-border smuggling and its impact on nuclear negotiations. American-Syrian talks have also addressed the importance of holding accountable those involved in smuggling explosives that were seized from Hezbollah, along with calls to activate military coordination between Lebanon and Israel to prevent escalation. Meanwhile, a statement from the U.S. State Department indicated that Secretary Blinken urged Lebanon to hold accountable those responsible for the shipment of explosives that was released, and touched on the Lebanese Boycott Law, which is sometimes used to hinder peace efforts. He emphasized the importance of direct dialogue between the Lebanese Armed Forces and Israel to reduce misunderstandings.
