Jumblatt's political stance explained
The article focused on Walid Jumblatt's current political positioning, noting that he is distancing himself from escalation against Hezbollah, despite his disagreements with the party. His goal is to maintain internal stability within Lebanon and the Druze community in the face of Israeli attempts to expand its influence among the Druze, especially through Sheikh Mouhawiq Tareeq. Jumblatt believes that confronting the Israeli project requires preventing political and social infiltration, and avoiding full alignment with Hezbollah in order to preserve Lebanese stability and prevent severe sectarian and political divides. Some also see this as an effort to safeguard the future of the Druze community and the region’s balance of power.
