Iran clarifies amid plague reports
The Iranian health authorities denied any reports of plague cases after rumors circulated about the death of a student at the Faculty of Dentistry in Kermanshah due to the disease. The Vice President of Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences confirmed that investigations revealed there is no student named Mohammad Reza Nasiri, aged 33, in the university records, and that there are no cases of plague in the province or in Iran overall. This clarification comes after the death of an employee at a research institute in Moscow, where Russian authorities monitored around 200 people without confirming any infections, amid international concerns over the spread of the disease.
