California Governor links US military aid to Israel to conditions
California Governor Gavin Newsom expressed the need to subject U.S. military support for Israel to specific conditions, with growing agreement on this within the Democratic Party. He criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s policies, viewing them as hindering the two-state solution and increasing Israel’s international isolation, while also condemning acts of violence in the West Bank. Newsome did not specify the conditions in detail but emphasized the importance of distinguishing between defense systems like the Iron Dome and bombs and munitions. Newsom is considered one of the potential candidates for the U.S. presidency in 2028.
