Chat Egypt: Egyptian Rumor Monitoring Platform
The Egyptian government has launched the "Chat Egypt" platform to monitor rumors and correct information using artificial intelligence technologies. The platform aims to track misleading content, verify its accuracy, and respond promptly, especially given that rumors related to external crises have increased by 113% during the first half of 2026. The platform is composed of four main sections and includes tools for verifying news, images, and videos, linking data to official sources to correct information before it spreads widely. This step comes as part of the government's efforts to combat misinformation and enhance communication with citizens, in light of the growing exploitation of regional developments to disseminate false information.
