Coffee prices rise 5.6percent
Global coffee prices have risen by 5.6% amid inventories declining to their lowest level since 1999. This increase occurs despite expectations of higher production in the 2026-2027 season, particularly in Brazil. Market pressures are mainly driven by the limited stocks approved for delivery on the ICE exchange, which holds ready-to-deliver beans, making the market more sensitive to changes in available quantities. Although Brazil anticipates a record harvest that could boost supplies, the impact on prices depends on weather conditions and the speed of marketing activities. Farmers are balancing between direct sales and futures contracts delivery, which limits the growth of approved inventories and continues to exert upward pressure on prices.
