Security Forces Alert on Habash Police Scam
The Internal Security Forces in Lebanon have issued a warning about a scam targeting citizens through a phone call in which scammers claim to have security or legal files, such as records related to drug trafficking or criminal sentences. They use fictitious characters, such as an officer and a lawyer, to convince victims to transfer money to resolve the issue and avoid detention. The forces confirmed that they do not communicate in this manner, and have arrested two individuals from the criminal gang. They call on citizens to report any similar calls to help prevent falling victim to such scams.
