Guterres: West Bank crisis aims to expel Palestinians
The situation in Palestinian territories, especially in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, is increasingly a source of international concern, as it has spiraled out of control. UN Secretary-General António Guterres warned of the worsening conditions due to Israeli restrictions on aid deliveries and the escalating attacks by settlers, along with a lack of necessary funding to provide food for the population. He emphasized that Palestinians are subjected to daily attacks by settlers and that the situation is heading toward heightened violence, with an urgent need for financial aid of $450 million to ensure food supplies over the next six months. It is expected that Guterres will travel to Egypt to discuss efforts to halt the escalation of the conflict and to create conditions for achieving a lasting peace that includes a two-state solution.
