Officials ease tensions over explosives shipment
The article discussed the dispute over the explosive shipment file in Zahle, Lebanon, where domestic and cross-border political negotiations successfully contained the tension before the Cabinet session. There was an agreement to postpone making a final decision on referring the case to the judicial council, while security and judicial investigations continue to identify those responsible. Some factions, such as Hezbollah and the Ministry of Justice, oppose this approach, preferring to pursue local judicial investigations rather than an immediate referral. The issue remains open as investigations are ongoing, amid continued political pressures both externally and internally, along with warnings about the potential consequences of the tension for the country's security and stability.
