The Iranian leader Ali Khamenei has passed away, and Iranian and foreign figures participated in his funeral procession, which lasted six days. His son, Mojtaba Khamenei, was absent from public appearances for the first time since the attack that killed his father in February. Revolutionary Guard commander Ahmad Vahidi appeared for the first time since the outbreak of the war with the United States and Israel, and was appointed as the successor to the former official who was killed in strikes on Khamenei's headquarters. The burial of the former leader was halted due to security concerns, and the funeral ceremonies began, during which the body will be transferred to various Iranian provinces before being buried in Mashhad.
