France faces third heatwave across seven regions

France is experiencing the beginning of a new, intense heatwave, as authorities have raised their alerts to "orange" level for seven southern provinces. Temperatures are expected to reach 40°C following a historic heatwave in June. Weather forecasts predict that the heatwave will extend to the north and continue until the end of the week, amid increasing risk of wildfires, especially with rising winds. This marks the third severe heatwave in France this year, with recent heatwaves causing thousands of deaths across Europe.
