National Mills Union President on Fès-Meknès Wheat Harvest
The head of the National Millers' Union confirmed that the upcoming grain season is expected to be good, with increased yield and quality of the production, as the specific weight of the grains ranges between 80 and 86 kilograms per hectoliter. Analyses also showed that the protein content in the grains reaches approximately 10.5%, although the requirement is 11.5% or higher. This can be compensated for by blending domestic production with imported grains. The harvest operations remain modest due to the Eid al-Adha holiday and difficulties in securing harvesting equipment, but there is hope to speed up the processes to achieve an production goal of 15 million quintals.
