Customs extends steel tariffs to 2029
The Customs and Indirect Taxes Department announced the extension of preventative measures on hot-rolled steel sheet imports until June 18, 2029, through a decision that includes a gradual reduction of the additional tariffs from 19% to zero over three years. The measures also include exemptions for imports from certain developing countries and are part of ongoing efforts to protect the local industry from external competition.
