Casablanca Port Sees Grain and Animal Feed Boom with 17 Million Tons in First Half of 2026

During the first half of 2026, the Casablanca Port achieved a total trade volume of 17 million tons, representing a 7% increase compared to the same period of the previous year. Imports accounted for 75% of the total movement, amounting to 12.82 million tons, while exports reached 4.19 million tons. Grain imports rose by 13% to 3.3 million tons, and feed imports increased by 33% to over one million tons. Container activity also grew by 5%, with more than 762,000 twenty-foot equivalent containers processed. Roll-on/roll-off transportation increased by 35%, reflecting a recovery in the port's commercial traffic after a period of pressure on vessel arrivals and operational congestion. A digital system was implemented, along with the organization of berths and the division of work into three shifts to ensure continuous 24-hour service, reducing congestion by 50%.
