Moroccan Legal Status Updates in Spain

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nasser Bourita, announced the launch of an exceptional action plan to facilitate Moroccans in Spain obtaining their criminal record certificates. This comes in conjunction with the Spanish government's decision to regularize the status of undocumented migrants. A new digital mechanism has been adopted, allowing citizens to submit their applications directly at the consulate along with their national ID cards. The applications are processed and sent swiftly via diplomatic pouch in less than a week. Working hours have been extended, and additional appointments are being made available to facilitate procedures. The minister emphasizes that consular services remain committed to responding to the requests of the Moroccan community in Spain, in line with royal directives.
