Al-Sabah Reports on Fake Clearance Certificates
During an audit conducted by inspectors from the General Directorate of Taxes, fake tax clearance certificates were seized. These certificates were submitted by contractors working with companies holding valid permits. The forged documents are being used by suppliers to facilitate the collection of amounts for submitted invoices, amidst the mechanisms of the 2024 Finance Law, which includes withholding VAT at the source.
