Moroccan intelligence disrupts lone wolf cells
Moroccan security authorities continue to dismantle extremist cells and arrest individuals suspected of adopting radical ideologies and plotting terrorist operations, aiming to counter the threats of "lone wolf" attacks that use digital platforms to execute individual operations which are difficult to detect quickly. These operations included the arrest of individuals in cities such as M'Diq, Tetouan, and Chefchaouen, and in coordination with Spain, several cells were dismantled that had planned to target vital infrastructure and carry out direct terrorist attacks. These operations highlight the evolution of terrorist activity, which has increasingly relied on isolated individuals and electronic resources, while international intelligence cooperation persists to address cross-border threats.
