Preventing officials from shielding the accused
The article highlighted the Moroccan Parliament's negligence in performing its oversight role, especially amid the rising prices of sacrificial animals despite the government’s allocated support (28 billion dirhams) for livestock imports. This neglect is considered a betrayal of trust, as it undermines the legitimacy of institutions and threatens anti-corruption and anti-rent-seeking efforts. It does so by hindering constitutional oversight mechanisms, such as investigation committees and the reports accumulated by the Supreme Audit Institution, reflecting a weak commitment to accountability and enabling impunity.
