Casablanca Coffee Prices Rise for World Cup
Cafés in Casablanca experienced a slight increase in coffee prices during the Moroccan national team's matches in the 2026 World Cup. The price of regular coffee went up by two dirhams, reaching 18 dirhams in some neighborhoods, while prices remained stable in other areas such as Ain Sbaa and Bernoussi. Professionals explained that this rise was not related to the matches themselves but aimed at managing crowds and maintaining service quality. Some citizens expressed surprise at the increases coinciding with the matches. As fans gathered, cafés became a main venue for watching the games amid an atmosphere of excitement.
