Experts Explain Drop in Morocco Poultry and Egg Prices
Morocco has experienced a decline in poultry and consumer egg prices in recent weeks, due to a temporary imbalance between supply and demand. This was caused by increased production capacities and a decrease in demand resulting from households' higher consumption of sacrificial animals during Eid al-Adha. As a result, selling prices dropped, impacting producers' profits. The federation reaffirmed that this situation is temporary and that the sector is capable of meeting demand without affecting the availability of supplies. It also called for reforms in the marketing and distribution chain to promote a future balance between supply and demand.
