Morocco Near Deal for First Submarine
The Kingdom of Morocco is seeking to strengthen its defensive capabilities through modernization and development of its naval fleet. Negotiations have begun to select its first military submarine, with a competition among three main countries: South Korea, Germany, and France, following the withdrawal of the Spanish offer from the deal. Estimates indicate that Morocco plans to acquire two or three submarines, with particular interest in the Korean "KSS-III" submarine, which exceeds previous specifications. Additionally, there is a new deal to purchase 101 "Shingung" missiles to bolster air defenses. The competition among the participating offers remains fierce, with no final decision made yet.
