The Israeli Higher Planning and Building Council approved today the construction of 1,516 new settlement units across various areas in the West Bank and the Jordan Valley, in addition to administrative organization for three other settlement outposts. Led by Finance Minister and Settlement Minister Bezalel Smotrich, this move aims to strengthen Israeli control over the region and address developmental needs and increasing demand, while emphasizing that it continues to serve the goal of preventing the establishment of a Palestinian state. This step is part of Israel’s expansion efforts in the settlements and its efforts to reinforce its presence in the occupied territories.
