The Palestinian Ministry of Labor and the World Food Program have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation in the fields of employment, social protection, and decent work. The agreement aims to support the capacity of the most vulnerable groups affected by crises, such as youth and women, to withstand economic challenges and recover from crises by implementing programs that provide cash-for-work and operational interventions. It also includes cooperation in coordinating cash support, promoting workers’ rights, and improving access to employment opportunities, with a focus on applying decent work principles and occupational safety. Additionally, it seeks to support the integration of vulnerable groups into the labor market to achieve economic sustainability and facilitate a gradual transition from emergency response to economic recovery.
