The article discusses the position of Israeli Rabbi Shlomo Auer on non-Jewish participation in leadership in Israel. He prohibited voting for the "Amcha Yisrael" list, headed by Reserve Brigadier General in the Israeli Army, Uffer Winter, due to the presence of activist Youssef Haddad in second place on the list. Auer argued that non-Jews cannot hold leadership positions in Israel, even if they are religiously devout. He stated that such individuals might be ordinary citizens, but not leaders. Haddad is one of the most prominent defenders of the occupation and aspires to become a minister in the Israeli government. Despite Auer's stance, which reflects the limits of the religious Zionist current in accepting Arab figures supported by occupation policies—despite their military service and propaganda activities—he does not see their leadership potential.
