Iran warned the United States that it would respond strongly to any Israeli attack on Tal al-Tahir in southern Lebanon, where Iranian soldiers are entrenched alongside Hezbollah. The message, delivered at the end of August, highlights Iran's direct involvement in the fighting there and its readiness to respond to any Israeli advances, especially after Israel occupied large areas of southern territories and both sides exchanged threats. So far, there have been no official comments from the concerned parties regarding the contents of the message or the presence of Iranian forces on the hill, but sources indicate a possible Iranian escalation in defense of the site.
