The Director General of the Department of Public Statistics confirmed that the reports circulating on some platforms about fines imposed on citizens for not answering researchers' questions or not being at home during visits are incorrect. He explained that during a population census, there are sometimes situations where it is impossible to collect data from certain households, which is normal and falls within the expected margin of statistical error. He pointed out that the researchers, who are teachers from the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development, are well-trained and highly flexible, able to return for another visit if data collection was unsuccessful on the first attempt. He emphasized that cooperation from citizens is essential for the success of the census and for improving data that contribute to development plans and community services.
