Rafah crossing travel canceled again
The Palestinian Medical Transfers Committee confirmed that the cancellation of patients' travel through the Rafah Crossing in southern Gaza for the third time within two weeks is due to the lack of necessary coordination. This causes delays in patients' treatment, increases waiting lists, and worsens their suffering. They clarified that the decision not to open the crossing or issue approvals is attributed to the absence of security coordination, and that the committee does not have the authority to do so. They called on citizens to understand the circumstances. Additionally, the Palestinian Ministry of Health has requested an increase in the number of patients permitted to travel and to expedite procedures for life-saving cases. Meanwhile, Israel continues to impose restrictions on the crossing since its limited reopening in February 2026, amid a blockade that nearly led to a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, with ongoing aggression and tens of thousands of casualties recorded.
